Bingo Lingo II - Return Of The Jargonauts
The business climate is tough, people are facing difficult decisions and having to make some unwelcome statements. The Jargonauts are still trying to avoid saying the things they don't want to say through obfuscation, so look out for the following in meetings:
Build - "I'd like to build on that statement"
I'd like to pretend you hadn't said that, but I don't want to appear rude. I'll rubbish what you had to say, but let's hope no-one notices whilst they focus on my idea instead.
Empower - "I empowered you to deal with that"
That project has gone horribly wrong, I'm going to distance myself from it now by blaming you
Low Hanging Fruit - "We've taken all the low hanging fruit, we need a new approach"
Clearly I can't succeed with a bunch of fruitcakes like you, I need a new team.
Strawman - "I've drawn up a strawman for this"
I forgot I was supposed to produce a paper for this meeting so I cobbled this together, I'm incompetent but I'm hopinig to pass it off as inclusiveness.
Turnkey – “We need to have a turnkey solution”
I need a way out of this project, will someone please give me a key to the door.
