FrontlineHR™ - Technical Specification
The software is produced using ASP 3.0 written in VBScript.
Data storage is provided by an RDBMS. The standard product
currently uses Microsoft Access although the system can be
modified for use with other database systems such as SQL
Server or Oracle.
Work is currently underway on a .NET version of the system
that will be available from mid 2003 and will offer the
following benefits:
- Richer client interface functionality
- Improved speed
- Modular design that simplifies ongoing development
- Increased scalability
The use of standard Microsoft architectures ensures continued
product support, security, stability and performance far into
the future.
Hosted service or standalone product
The FrontlineHR™ System is available as a hosted service or
can be installed directly onto your Windows-based server.
Hosting is provided on our state-of-the-art servers, covered
by an exacting Service Level Agreement. Dedicated
Microsoft-qualified professionals provide round the clock
monitoring and back-up facilities ensuring the integrity and
security of all data.
Providing FrontlineHR™ as a service lowers the initial
investment, reduces dependence on your IT function and allows
for a faster roll-out.
Should you prefer to run the software on your own intranet
server then installation is a straightforward process with
free telephone support available if required. Minimum
specifications for installation of the current ASP system onto
your own intranet server are:
- Windows NT server (or better)
- IIS version 5 (or better)
- MS Access 2000 (or better)
Please note that the .NET version (available from mid 2003)
will require a Windows 2000 (or better) server with the .NET
framework installed. The technical support which we can

- Strong data security and privacy. All data is stored in
password-protected database systems that limit access to
authenticated users.

including off-site storage. Redundant systems ensure the
maximum possible system up-time.
- Scalability. Adding users is simple without the need to
install costly client-side software. Enterprise scale RDBMSs
can be used to support hundreds or even thousands of users.
- Modularity. Once the system framework is in place
additional modules can be integrated with minimal disruption
to users.
